Boat owner
I installed the Yamaha oil tank mount in approximately 15 minutes. It took me one hour to remove the remnants of the metal mount installed by the boat manufacturer because it had been reduced to a mass of corroded metal paste. The Artec mount is heavy gauge stainless that well last the life of the boat. I highly recommend this mount.

Mr.
This is a quality product and far superior to the stock steel one. It will outlast the motor. Price is fair for what you get. As the old saying goes you get what you pay for.

Stainless Steel
I have a 1996 Yamaha VX-225 with a 2008 powerhead on the back of my Answer 22WA. The boat went thru 3 hurricanes while in the Keys then sat on a trailer in my friend's backyard when he gifted her to me. I replaced pretty much everything on the boat but could not find this oil tank bracket in anyting but OEM which rusts very quickly in saltwater. Then I read a blog that suggested this Artec and it was a perfect fit for the OEM oil tank. Solid & stainless should last forever - could be a little less expensive, but a must buy to replace the OEM bracket.

Great Bracket
This is a great upgrade, my stock top bracket rotted away and that alone was in the 70 dollar range, so for a few more bucks to get a full SS setup was the way to go. It looks like they cut from the outside in, which leaves a very fine "burr" that is easy to take off with sand paper or a small belt sander, however if they cut the other way, it would eliminate this all together. Again doubt it has any impact but figured it can not hurt to have a smoother edge when up against a plastic tank. I have not installed yet (boat is away for winter) but the hardest part will be getting to the brackets (272 sailfish) as they are under the live well, so that has to be removed, I'm sure hours of work for this, but better to only cry once!!!
