PREVIEW-- DANA 60 HIGH STEER ARM

Artec is in the final development phases of its Dana 60 Kingpin high steer arms. These new steering arms are an exciting addition to the offroad market most notably due to their ability to tie into the factory knuckle tie rod end hole. This is especially useful for custom 4x4 builds where full hydraulic tie rod ends should be held in double shear. This new ability not only adds strength to the tie rod end, it also re-enforces the entire knuckle.

 

The high steer kit also includes standard crossover steering holes for those customers who are not ready to change their steering over to full hydraulic or those looking to just add strength to their exisiting knuckles. The tie rod end mounting holes are all offset at the factory 9 degree angle to compensate for kingpin inclination.

 

The high steer arm mounts to the knuckle using 4 high strength ARP studs. The arms are machined for 5 holes to accomodate both stock and aftermarket knuckles such as those from Reid Racing.

 

Rather than use the factory kingpin springs, the knuckle is held together with a springless design that uses a set screw to adjust the torque required to hold together. This eliminates some of the slop that is commonly found in axles that receive moderate offroad abuse.

 

The Knuckle Bolt option comes with a 3/4" grade 8 bolt, 3/4" nuts and lock washer, and and 1.25" outer diameter, .250" wall sleeve. The sleeve is machined to allow direct contact and proper mislaignment for a 3/4" rod end (heim) ball.

 

The arms are CNC precision machined from 1.25" 1018 cold roll steel for ultimate high strength.
