Front Axle Truss for XJ


This heavy duty and light weight truss system is designed to take serious abuse and reinforce your front HIGH PINION Dana 30 XJ axle. The 1/4" thick truss top and 10Ga. gusseting incorporates a unique design to strengthen both axle tubes, not just the long tube. The precision cut and formed components of this setup ensure a hassle-free installation. Not only is this just a truss, but you also get a COMPLETE POLYURETHANE BUSHING REPLACEMENT for your upper control arms, or you can even upgrade to Currie Johnny Joints.

Upper Control Arm Options:
  • Daystar  Bushings - Includes bushing, inner sleeve, thrust washer, bolt, and nut for Driver side and bushing, weldable outer sleeve, inner sleeve, greasable bolt, nut, and two keyed tabs for Passenger side.
  • Currie Johnny Joints - Includes 2.0" Press-in machined Johnny Joint (CE-9112M), 2.0" weldable Johnny Joint (CE-9112), and two keyed tabs for Passenger side. Both joints include greasable bolts.
  • Truss ONLY - No bushings/joints/keyed tabs included. Key hole slots on top of truss where keyed tabs would go must be filled with weld. Use this only if you aren't connecting the passenger side UCA.
 

Features include:

  • 1/4" and 10 gauge (.130") mild steel. Precision CNC cut and bent for great fitment.*

  • Truss is low profile to allow clearance above the axle.

  • Truss spans length of long side AND short side.

  • Truss is reinforced using interlocked 10 gauge thick gussets for maximum strength and easy assembly.

  • Overall low profile design means your axle is stronger, sleaker, easier to fit into any vehicle, and less likely to interfere with vehicle components



NOTE: This kit requires general welding and fabrication skills including welding to the cast center section. Welding should only be done by a competent welder. Artec Industries implies no guarantees or warranties and is not liable for improper installation.
*Some grinding and fitment may be required when installing this kit. Every axle varies slightly and some fabrication may be required.

Great Truss
  First of all this truss is HEAVY DUTY and very easy to install if you have a JK. I would say IMHO this is by far one of the best Truss Kits on the market. The only thing ARTEC needs to do, to make this a 5 star rating is supply instructions for an XJ HP30 with pictures of complete axle. I would also include the passenger upper control mount. ARTEC actually sent me a drawing with dimensions to cut and remove my factory mount and weld it back on to the truss. Well Done ARTEC

Artec D30 XJ Truss with Johnny Joints
  I've been having trouble with the stock rubber bushings walking in the axle for years. I had the axles out of the jeep, and figured I would fix the problem once and for all. I had looked at other solutions. One that just replaced the rubber bushings with poly, or johhny joints. Also looked at a couple of trusses with poly bushings. Finally one of the guys on the SocalXJ email list pointed me at Artec. I had the truss a few days after ordering. The truss was easy to fit to the axle and self aligned. It was easy to install with a 220v welder. The "hard" part was welding to the cast iron, which was accomplished with a pre/post heat, using mapp gas. This is definitely a fix for the XJ that's been a long time waiting. The price is right, quality is excellent, and it fixes the bushing walking problem, and adds strength to the marginal D30. Well worth the money.
